Dubai Police Takes A Stand Against Child Abuse With ‘Our Children are Our Responsibility’ Campaign

 

Dubai Police launched the ‘Our Children are Our Responsibility’ awareness campaign on World Children’s Day (November 20), aimed at raising awareness on child rights. Over 100 children and their families participated in a march organized as part of the campaign to highlight the importance of protecting children from abuse and violence.

The campaign was launched by Major General Dr Mohammad Abdullah Al Murr, director of the General Department of Human Rights at Dubai Police. Dr Al Murr emphasized the importance of community responsibility and raising awareness to protect children from abuse and ensure their well-being. He stated, “Dubai Police strongly believe in community responsibility and the importance of raising awareness. Therefore, we have introduced different channels of communication to help victims of abuse seek help and enable members of the public to report such violations directly and confidentially.”

The ‘Our Children are Our Responsibility’ awareness campaign is part of Dubai Police’s ongoing efforts to protect children’s rights and combat child abuse. Dubai Police have introduced various measures to protect children and ensure their safety, such as establishing child protection centers and hotlines to report child abuse.


Dr Al Murr stressed that Dubai Police have zero tolerance for abusers of children’s rights, and the welfare of a child is a top priority in all cases received by the Dubai Police. This is in accordance with international and local laws, particularly Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 Concerning Child Rights.

The ‘Our Children are Our Responsibility’ awareness campaign is an important initiative that emphasizes the importance of protecting children and creating a safe and nurturing environment for them. It also serves as a reminder to parents and caregivers of their responsibility to provide a safe and supportive environment for children.

The march, which was part of the campaign, saw over 100 children and their families marching in support of child rights. The children carried banners and posters with messages supporting child rights and calling for an end to child abuse.
