MOCCAE HOSTS GREEN RETREAT AHEAD OF COP28

The UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCAE) recently hosted a "Green Retreat" in Expo City Dubai, bringing together ministers and over 150 high-ranking officials from 50 government and private entities. The event served as a precursor to the nation's hosting of the Conference of Parties (COP28) later this year, and aimed to showcase the UAE's impactful initiatives in climate change action, environmental preservation, and sustainability under the theme United for Climate.

The Green Retreat fostered a collaborative approach, harnessing the power of various stakeholders to promote innovative ideas and projects. It aimed to build on the accomplishments of the UAE in climate action and sustainability, and to highlight the nation's commitment to addressing the urgent challenges posed by climate change. The retreat served as a platform for national experts and strategic partners from various sectors to come together and advance climate action in the UAE.

Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, the MoCCAE will take the lead in coordinating the collaborative efforts of all government and private institutions in preparation for the COP28 summit. This reflects the UAE's commitment to playing a proactive role in the global fight against climate change and contributing to international efforts to address this pressing issue.
