UAE's Strategic Location and Open Policy Facilitate Global Economic Cooperation, Says Minister of Economy

 

Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), emphasised the country's strategic location and open policy towards the world during his participation in the 13th edition of City Week Forum 2023 in London. Bin Touq held bilateral meetings with various officials, including Lord Dominic Johnson, Minister of State in the Department for Business and Trade, UK, and Nicholas Lyons, Lord Mayor of the City of London.


Bin Touq highlighted the UAE's key role in creating investment opportunities in new economy sectors and supporting supply chains to ensure their flexible and sustainable operation. The UAE's location at the heart of global trade routes makes it an active logistic gateway, facilitating the flow of goods in and out of the region.




The minister also met with Andrew Griffith, British Economic Secretary to the Treasury, Morris Paton, CEO of City Week forum, Odile Renaud Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and Rashee Pandey, Head of Membership and Growth at Innovate Finance Panel.


Bin Touq's meetings highlighted the UAE's commitment to promoting global economic cooperation and its role as a key player in the global economy. The country's proactive measures to support businesses and investors, including regulatory reforms and investment incentives, have made it an attractive destination for foreign investment.
