DEWA scores high in Dubai Government’s Instant Happiness Index

 

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced that it has added Samsung Pay to its growing list of payment options for customers. The move makes DEWA the first government entity in Dubai to adopt Samsung Pay within its digital channels. The service can be accessed through DEWA’s smart app on Samsung smartphones.


According to Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, the adoption of Samsung Pay is part of the authority's ongoing efforts to enhance its global leadership and excellence in digital transformation. DEWA aims to provide its customers with the latest technologies and innovative solutions and cooperate with government and private organizations to provide its services conveniently at any time and from anywhere.


DEWA currently offers all its services through its website and smart app to provide real-time, smooth, and value-added services to all stakeholders. The adoption of its services reached 99% in 2022. In the same year, DEWA scored 98% in the Dubai Government’s Instant Happiness Index, by Dubai Digital Authority.


In 2022, DEWA customers conducted over 10 million transactions using the digital platforms of DEWA and its partners. More than 1.5 million transactions were completed through DEWA’s smart app, over 2.3 million transactions were completed using DEWA’s website, and more than 800,000 payment processes were completed through Dubai Now. In addition, more than 350,000 payment transactions were conducted via Etisalat payment machines.



Furthermore, over 4.5 million transactions were completed through the smart channels of 20 banks in the UAE. Over 28,000 transactions were done through the ‘Tayseer’ service using cheques through Emirates NBD’s cash deposit machines, and over 600,000 transactions were completed via Apple Pay.


DEWA’s commitment to digital transformation has made it one of the leading government entities in Dubai. By offering multiple digital payment options, DEWA is ensuring that its customers can access its services conveniently and securely.
