The UAE's Focus on Human Capital Development for Economic Growth
The UAE's leadership recognizes the importance of human capital development for sustainable economic growth. President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been focusing on this aspect since he took office, with the aim of creating more opportunities for Emiratis in leadership roles and improving the country's ranking in the Global Human Capital Index.
To this end, the UAE has implemented a policy requiring firms with 50 employees to increase the number of Emiratis in their skilled workforce by one percent every six months. This will expedite the country's transition towards human capital development and create more opportunities for citizens in the higher echelons of leadership in both the public and private sectors.
The UAE's leadership has also been focusing on improving food safety and security, recognizing the importance of ensuring a stable food supply for the country's population. Additionally, the signing of Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements with key partner countries such as India, Indonesia, Israel, and Turkey is further diversifying the country's economy away from petrodollars.
The UAE's focus on human capital development for economic growth is a commendable effort that will ensure long-term sustainability and prosperity. With President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the helm, the country is on course to grow into a bigger economic powerhouse not just in the region but on a global scale.
