UAE and Russia Pledge to Strengthen Economic Partnership and Parliamentary Ties

 

The United Arab Emirates and Russia are poised to reinforce their partnership as Saqr Ghobash, the Speaker for the Federal National Council of UAE, engaged in talks with Valentina Matvienko, the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. Ghobash's official visit to Moscow marked the beginning of a new chapter in the UAE-Russia relations, with a focus on enhancing cooperation across various domains.


Ghobash expressed the UAE's eagerness to deepen collaboration with Russia, recognizing the significant strides made in their parliamentary cooperation in recent years. He highlighted the establishment of the UAE-Russian Parliamentary Friendship Committee and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation by the Federal Federation Council of the Russian Federation as key milestones in the development of parliamentary relations between the two nations.


Matvienko echoed Ghobash's sentiments and emphasized the strength of bilateral and parliamentary relations between the UAE and Russia. She underscored the UAE's pivotal role as one of Russia's key economic partners in the Arab world, highlighting the immense potential for further consolidation of this partnership. Both nations are committed to nurturing and expanding their economic ties in line with their shared interests.


The meeting witnessed fruitful discussions and exchanges, demonstrating the determination of both parties to forge ahead with strategic cooperation. The presence of a parliamentary delegation accompanying Ghobash symbolized the collective commitment to strengthen ties between the UAE and Russia.
