UAE-Congolese Relations Steadily Developing, Says Congo Minister

 

The Trade Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Jean Lucien Bussa Tongba, has expressed his satisfaction with his country's growing economic ties with the UAE. In an interview with the Emirates News Agency (WAM) during the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) in Abu Dhabi, Tongba highlighted his ambition for a more productive partnership in the years to come through increasing trade and investments.


According to Tongba, the Democratic Republic of the Congo hopes to attract more investors from the UAE, as the country is open to investments in various sectors and areas where it has enormous capabilities. He also expressed admiration for the UAE's leading position and involvement in different development and economic spheres, which has made the country a sought-after investment destination.



The UAE and the Democratic Republic of the Congo have been strengthening their economic ties in recent years, with the UAE investing in various sectors in the country, including infrastructure, agriculture, and mining. The UAE is also among the top importers of Congolese products, particularly copper and cobalt.


As the Democratic Republic of the Congo aims to diversify its economy and attract more foreign investments, its relationship with the UAE is expected to play a significant role in achieving these goals. With Tongba's optimistic view on the future of UAE-Congolese relations, the partnership between the two countries is likely to continue to thrive in the coming years.
