UAE and China Partner to Boost Low-Carbon Nuclear Power

  The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) has signed three agreements with Chinese nuclear energy organisations to boost low-carbon nuclear power in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The agreements were signed with China's Nuclear Power Operations Research Institute, the China National Nuclear Corporation Overseas, and the China Nuclear Energy Industry Corporation. The MoUs cover cooperation in nuclear energy operations, high-temperature gas-cooled reactors, and nuclear fuel supply and investment. The UAE is already building the Arab world's first multi-unit operating nuclear energy plant, the Barakah plant in Abu Dhabi. UAE delivers urgent medical supplies to Sudan in humanitarian aid effort

  On May 6th, 2023, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) delivered 30 tonnes of urgent medical supplies to Sudan in an effort to assist those affected by the ongoing conflict. The shipment, valued at US$ 444 000, is the first that WHO has been able to deliver by air to Sudan since the outbreak of the conflict. The health supplies include enough trauma, emergency surgical supplies, and essential medicines to immediately reach 165,000 people who are in desperate need of humanitarian aid. Health facilities across the country report they have run out of basic health supplies, and national medical stores are no longer accessible due to the security situation.
